Here is the official final magazine cover for our movie "Rise To The Top" We understood that there were a lot of flaws in our initial draft which we worked on and now have come up with this. This magazine cover was done mainly by Muhammed as Aran and I were working on different blogs but we were helping each other.
The minor changes we have made from our first draft are the reallocation of the title and a strip at the bottom of the cover showing other movies. We also changed font sizes, we added different colours and a little bit more text to cover up some of the empty space as we felt we had too much.
I feel these little additional details have very much turned our idea into a conventional magazine front cover which will not look out of place among other magazines. When asking random people on the street whether they'd be able to imagine this as a genuine magazine front cover, 95% of them said yes. I had a sample of 20 people which I asked this question to.
I feel as if the magazine front cover was much harder to produce in comparison to the film poster. The main reason for this that much more information and extras are required in a magazine front cover. A generic poster has one specific purpose focusing on one movie whereas Magazine front covers tend to include other movies within its front cover although it tends to give one specific movie main prevalence.
